 |
To vocalist V. Brown, singing is as natural as breathing. With over
20 years of performing experience, the Connecticut native’s
mezzo-soprano voice covers a range of styles: R&B, pop, gospel
and standards—from the 60s to the present.

includes performing in the European tour of the classic musical
Hair, NYC’s famed Café Wha?, Brooklyn lounge/restaurant
The Five Spot and several choirs/ choruses. An accomplished spoken
word artist as well, Brown currently performs poetry and song regularly
throughout Fairfield County at popular open mic venues such as Lyrical
Voices, Poetz Realm and Free 2 Spit. Her influences include Chaka
Khan, Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, Aretha Franklin and Bonnie Raitt.
Between live performances, Brown also teaches vocal instruction
in her spare time.
With
performing in her blood, V. Brown is a great choice for vocal coaching
or your next event—including weddings, corporate events, live
vocals (i.e. background or lead vocal fill-ins) and studio session
work. Contact her today at info@vbrownsings.com!

Here on the Ground:
Recorded as an instrumental by jazz guitarist Grant Green in 1970, this
has been a favorite of mine through its sampling by A Tribe Called Quest
(“Vibes and Stuff,” 1991) and a 1996 vocal recording by singer
Diane Reeves.

Song for You
A favorite of mine, by the late, great, incomparable
Donny Hathaway.
